LIOMO

Every load, every route, in view

Transport and logistics run on vehicles, drivers and deadlines. LIOMO connects them to one platform, so your team knows where things are, how they are moving and what they cost.

Illustrative interface · demo data. An alerts list with temperature, geofence, speeding, fault-code, idling and door alerts for several vehicles, beside the alert rules that are switched on.

Context

An industry measured in hours and kilometres

Transport and logistics companies sell reliability. Customers expect accurate arrival times, loads that arrive in the condition they left, and answers when they ask. Behind that promise sit vehicles spread across a region or a country, drivers working alone, and margins that depend on fuel, maintenance and the hours each vehicle spends earning.

Much of what happens on the road is still pieced together afterwards, from phone calls, delivery notes and fuel receipts. Depots and loading bays keep their own records, often in separate systems. The result is a business that works hard but sees its own operation late, and makes decisions on estimates rather than records.

Challenges

What makes it hard

  • 01

    No live picture

Dispatchers call drivers to find out where vehicles are, and customers wait while someone finds out.

  • 02

    Condition of the load

Temperature, humidity and door openings matter for many loads, but are rarely recorded in a way that can be shown to a customer.

  • 03

    Costs spread everywhere

Fuel, maintenance, insurance and documents are recorded in different places, so the real cost of each vehicle is hard to pin down.

  • 04

    Risk on the road

Speeding, harsh braking and long idling wear vehicles and raise risk, yet usually surface only as fines, repairs or incidents.

Applications

How LIOMO applies

Fleet Management is the core of most transport and logistics work and runs on LIOMO Fleet, our own platform. The other solution areas are delivered as projects around it.
  • Fleet Management

    Live fleet operations

LIOMO Fleet shows every vehicle as Driving, Idle, Stopped or Offline, with trip history, route playback and geofences around depots and customer sites. Temperature probes and cargo-door sensors watch the load, and fuel, maintenance and document costs sit alongside the vehicle data.

  • IoT Solutions

    Connected depots and assets

Beyond the vehicle, a LIOMO project can connect cold rooms, yard equipment and other depot assets with sensors and gateways, so their condition is visible in the same operational picture.

  • EV Charging

    Depot charging

As fleets add electric vans and trucks, a LIOMO project can cover depot charging: assessing the site and its supply, selecting chargers managed over open protocols such as OCPP, and scheduling charging around shifts.

  • Warehouse Automation

    Loading bays and cross-docks

Where goods change hands, a LIOMO project can connect dock doors and handling equipment so that vehicle arrivals and loading activity are visible together.

  • Custom Software & Engineering

    Links to your systems

Most logistics companies already run order, dispatch or accounting software. A LIOMO project can include integrations, typically over REST APIs, so operational data reaches the systems your team already uses.

Illustrative scenario

Illustrative scenario: a regional distributor

This is an illustrative example, not a client project. It shows how the four stages could look for a distributor running vans and refrigerated trucks from two depots.

Illustrative example, not a client project

  1. 01

    Connect: trackers and sensors fitted

A GPS tracker is installed in each vehicle. Refrigerated trucks also get temperature probes and a cargo-door sensor, and trackers wired to the vehicle electronics report fuel level and engine readings.

  2. 02

Collect: one stream of vehicle data

Positions, temperatures and door events reach the LIOMO gateway over the mobile network and are stored on LIOMO Fleet, including messages sent after a gap in coverage.

  3. 03

    Understand: trips, rules and costs

Positions become trips, and each reading is checked against the rules the distributor sets: geofences around both depots, temperature limits per truck, and cargo-door alerts outside working hours. Fill-ups and service costs are logged per vehicle.

  4. 04

    Act: answers and decisions

Dispatchers answer customer calls from the live map, the team is alerted when a load space leaves its limits, and the monthly fleet report shows which vehicles cost more to run than they earn.

Outcomes to aim for

Outcomes to aim for

  • Answers without phone calls

Accurate locations and arrival information for customers and colleagues, straight from the live map.

  • Loads with a record

A temperature, humidity and door history that shows how each load was kept on the way.

  • Running costs in sight

Fuel, maintenance and document costs per vehicle, so the expensive ones stand out early.

  • Safer, steadier driving

Driver scores and speeding alerts that turn conversations about driving into conversations about facts.
