Know where every kilowatt-hour goes, and when
A LIOMO energy system connects meters, inverters, batteries and building controls to one platform, so your team can see consumption as it happens, act before demand peaks and report on energy from measured data.
Availability
Delivered as a project
Designed, installed and integrated for each building or site by LIOMO, from meter selection to software and ongoing support.
The problem
One bill, no breakdown
01
No breakdown by area
A single main meter cannot tell you which building, floor, production line or tenant is driving consumption.
02
Peaks seen only on the bill
Demand charges are set by short spikes, often when several large loads start together, and nobody sees them happen.
03
Generation and storage out of view
Solar inverters, batteries and the grid connection each have their own display or app, so nobody sees the combined picture.
04
Audits built by hand
Energy audits and sustainability reports depend on spreadsheets pieced together from bills, manual readings and estimates.
The solution
Metering, visibility and control in one system
- Sub-meters on the circuits, areas or tenants that matter, read automatically.
- Live consumption, with solar, battery and grid flows shown side by side.
- Demand tracked against limits you set, with alerts before a peak is reached.
- Scheduled and rule-based control of HVAC, lighting and selected loads.
- Interval data kept and organised for management reports and energy audits.
How it works
How a LIOMO energy system works
01
Connect
Sub-meters, current transformers, inverters, battery systems and building controllers are linked to a local gateway, typically over Modbus, M-Bus or BACnet, depending on what is already installed.
02
Collect
The gateway reads each device at regular intervals and sends timestamped readings to the platform, buffering them locally if the connection drops so no interval is lost.
03
Understand
Readings are organised by site, building, circuit and tenant, and turned into consumption profiles, demand curves, solar self-consumption and comparisons with previous periods.
04
Act
Alarms reach the right people, HVAC and lighting follow schedules and demand limits, and reports are ready for management, tenants and energy auditors.
Capabilities
What a project can include
01
Site assessment
A review of the electrical layout, existing meters, controls and bills, to decide where measurement will tell you the most.
02
Sub-metering
Meter and current-transformer selection and installation coordination for circuits, floors, lines or tenants, with water, gas and heat meters where needed.
03
Real-time consumption
Live and historical power and energy for every meter, with daily, weekly and monthly profiles and base load outside working hours.
04
Solar, battery and grid
Generation, battery state of charge and grid import and export on one screen, to see how much of your own energy you actually use.
05
Peak-demand management
Demand tracked against a limit you set, with early alerts and, where agreed, staged switching of non-critical loads.
06
HVAC and lighting control
Schedules, setpoints and occupancy rules applied through existing building controls, or through new controllers where none exist.
07
Alarms
Notifications for abnormal consumption, out-of-hours use, equipment faults and meters that stop reporting.
08
Reports for audits
Periodic reports per site, building or tenant, with interval data exports for energy audits and sustainability reporting.
09
Integration
Energy data shared with building management, finance or reporting systems through APIs or scheduled file exports.
Use cases
Where it fits
Commercial and office buildings
Meter floors and tenants separately, run HVAC and lighting to occupancy, and recharge energy costs from measured data.
Industrial and production sites
See consumption per line or machine, find base load outside production hours, and manage demand when large loads start.
Sites with solar and storage
Follow generation, battery state and grid exchange together, and check that the installation performs as designed.
Multi-site organisations
Compare branches, shops or facilities on the same basis and find the sites that use more than they should.
Business value
What it changes for the business
01
Less energy wasted
Out-of-hours consumption, equipment left running and a creeping base load become visible, so they can be dealt with.
02
Control of demand charges
Seeing peaks as they build, and shifting loads where agreed, helps keep demand within the limits you set.
03
Fair cost allocation
Sub-metered data lets you assign energy costs to departments, tenants or products from records instead of estimates.
04
Audit-ready records
Interval data and consistent reports make energy audits and sustainability reporting quicker to prepare and easier to check.

FAQ
Questions buyers ask
Can you work with the meters and controls we already have?
Often, yes. Many existing meters, inverters and building controllers share data over open protocols such as Modbus, M-Bus or BACnet. The site assessment checks what each device can provide, and new meters are added only where existing ones cannot give the data you need.
Does installing sub-meters mean shutting down power?
It depends on the meter type and the electrical installation. Split-core current transformers can often be fitted without interrupting supply, while some meters need a short, planned shutdown. Any electrical work is planned with your facilities team and carried out by qualified electricians.
Can the system switch loads automatically?
Yes, where you want it to. Control is agreed load by load: which equipment may be switched or adjusted, under what conditions, and how it can be overridden by hand. Many sites start with monitoring and alarms, then add control once the data shows where it is worthwhile.
Will the data help with an energy audit?
It gives auditors measured interval data by area and by load instead of estimates, and the data can be exported as spreadsheets for their analysis. The system supports an audit; it does not replace the auditor.
How long does a project take?
It depends on the number of sites, the meters and controls already in place and the integration needed. A typical sequence is a site assessment, a design and quotation, installation and commissioning, then a period of tuning alarms and reports with your team.
