Power and mobility, managed as one system

Chargers, meters, on-site generation and electric vehicles all produce data, and all draw on the same supply. LIOMO connects them so operators can see, control and plan energy use across their sites.

Illustrative interface · demo data. An EV charging site overview with six chargers: three charging at different power levels, one finishing, one available and one unavailable. A load bar shows site capacity shared between the building and charging, with headroom kept below the connection limit.

Context

Where electricity meets movement

Electrification is bringing energy and mobility together. Charge point operators, property owners, fleet operators and energy service companies now manage chargers, meters, solar arrays and batteries that compete for the same grid connection. Each piece of equipment can report what it is doing, but often only to its own software.

The operating questions are practical. Which chargers are available and which are faulty? How much power is the site drawing now, and how close is it to its limit? When should vehicles charge so they are ready for the next shift without raising peak demand? Answering them depends on connecting equipment from different makers and turning its data into decisions.

Challenges

What makes it hard

  • 01

    Limited grid capacity

Adding chargers to an existing site can push demand past the connection limit unless charging is managed.

  • 02

    Equipment in silos

Chargers, meters and inverters from different makers each report to their own software, with no single view.

  • 03

    Faults found by drivers

A charger out of service means a lost session and a frustrated driver, and faults are often reported by users first.

  • 04

    Unclear energy costs

Without metering by circuit or by asset, it is hard to see where energy goes and what each charge really costs.

Applications

How LIOMO applies

EV Charging and Energy Management are delivered as projects designed around each site and its supply. Vehicles in a fleet that is moving to electric can be followed on LIOMO Fleet.
  • EV Charging

    Charging infrastructure and management

A LIOMO project can cover site assessment, charger selection, installation coordination and connectivity, with management software built on open protocols such as OCPP so chargers can be monitored, controlled and scheduled.

  • Energy Management Systems

    Metering and load visibility

We typically add metering at the main supply and key circuits, read existing meters and inverters over protocols such as Modbus, and present consumption, generation and peak demand in one place.

  • IoT Solutions

    Connected site assets

Batteries, plant rooms and switchgear can be fitted with sensors for temperature, status and access, so their condition is known without a site visit.

  • Fleet Management

    Fleets in transition

Electric vehicles fitted with a tracker appear on LIOMO Fleet like any other vehicle, with the live map, trip history and geofences, so a mixed fleet stays in one place.

Illustrative scenario

Illustrative scenario: a business park adding EV charging

This is an illustrative example, not a client project. It shows how the four stages could apply to a business park adding staff and fleet charging alongside rooftop solar.

Illustrative example, not a client project

  1. 01

    Connect: chargers, meters and solar

New chargers are selected for open-protocol management, meters are added at the main supply and on the charging circuits, and the existing solar inverter is connected so its output can be read.

  2. 02

Collect: one record of energy and charging

Charging sessions, meter readings and solar generation are gathered into one central store at regular intervals.

  3. 03

    Understand: demand against capacity

The operator sees which chargers are available or faulty, live site demand against the connection limit, and how much charging is covered by on-site generation.

  4. 04

Act: charging that fits the site

Charging power is shared across vehicles so the site stays within its limit, sessions are shifted towards solar hours where possible, and faults raise an alert to the maintenance team.

Outcomes to aim for

Outcomes to aim for

  • More from the same connection

Managed charging that makes better use of existing grid capacity before an upgrade is needed.

  • Chargers that stay available

Faults detected and reported by the system rather than by drivers.

  • Energy costs you can explain

Consumption, generation and charging measured by site, circuit and asset.

  • One view across equipment

Chargers, meters and generation shown together, whichever makers supplied them.
